A purpose-built student residence is available in Dornoch offering 40 en-suite bedrooms with shared kitchen and living areas. UHI student accommodation provides safe, secure, and comfortable housing. Students who choose to stay in this accommodation are treated as adults and should be ready for independent living. This means our students keep their rooms clean, do their own laundry, cook for themselves, and contribute to keeping communal areas tidy. The onsite trained accommodation team are based in the residencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to provide assistance and support to students.

In Stornoway, we have the fantastic Bayhead Bridge Centre, which offers self-catering accommodation. Located on the picturesque waterfront, it’s a great place to be with easy access to the college and town centre, just ten minutes walk away.
The rooms are modern and well-equipped with en-suite bathrooms, a study unit and internet access. It’s a bright, contemporary place to relax and socialise with your fellow students. With sports and games facilities available in the centre, including snooker, computer games, and a sports hall, rest assured there is always plenty going on.

Our campuses in North Uist, Benbecula and South Uist give you the chance to immerse yourself in stunning island landscapes, vibrant Gaelic culture, and a warm, welcoming community.

Accommodation in South Uist
Thanks to our partnership with Uist Travel Accommodation in Daliburgh, UHI North, West and Hebrides students can stay in modern, self-catering accommodation on South Uist. The site offers ten en-suite rooms, five apartments and two pods – all with gigabit-speed Wi-Fi, EV and e-bike charging, laundry facilities, secure bike storage and pet-friendly options.

Many of our students currently find welcoming and friendly accommodation through local independent providers. There are a number of rental properties available in and around our campuses and centres which can be found by searching the internet for rooms or flats available for rent. On occasion providers may leave their details with us, please contact our Customer Services Team to check.
